In the Scotties' final race of the season, Nalunkuuma (pictured at right) finished in the top spot for the Scotties, crossing the 5k finish line at the Asics Sand Shark Invitational in 21:43.99, good for 114th place in the 28 team field. The time marks an incredible improvement over her previous best in the 5k, when she ran 25:20 on September 1, 2015. The finish helped the Scotties, who are in their second year of competition, finish in 25th place out of 28 teams, placing above Division I Savannah State and missing out on 24th place by one point.

The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
