Scotties' Vannoy Wins Volleyball Player Of The Week

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Great South Athletic Conference announced the fall sports Players of the Week for events competed October 19 – 25 and, after voting by the league sports information directors, Agnes Scott's Brianna Vannoy collected the volleyball prize.

In three matches last week, the senior middle hitter led the Scotties on the court by contributing in several key areas. In the Scotties GSAC regular season clinching win over Salem College, Vannoy (pictured at right) hit .600 while also logging 2 assists, 2 blocks (1 solo and one block assist), and also altered several attacks with her blocking presence. For the week, she contributed in almost every category, logging 3 service aces, 3 assists, 5 digs, 4 blocks, while hitting .210 for the week.


The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
