GSAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week – Nikki Langford of Agnes Scott
Langford (pictured at right), a junior transfer, continued her outstanding debut season with the Scotties going a perfect 4-0 on the week, including in the Scotties' regular-season GSAC clinching win over Salem College. Against Peace University, she and partner Camille Wilson blanked Peace, 8-0, and she followed that up with a routine win in straight sets in the Scotties' 9-0 shutout. Against Salem, she was equally dominant, dropping only 5 games between doubles and singles, winning 8-2 in doubles, and 6-3, 6-0 in singles. She has now won five straight singles matches without dropping a set, and has a perfect 6-0 record in the spring in doubles, all with Camille Wilson.
The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
