Canepa (pictured at right), a sophomore from Elko, Nevada, continues to anchor a Salem defense that is only allowing 1.0 goals against per game. Canepa joined by three other excellent members of the back line for Salem shutdown Ferrum in a 1-0 road win. Salem held the high-powered offense of #3 nationally ranked Lynchburg to 3 goals in a 3-0 loss. Two of those goals came late in the match.

The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
