Weekly Soccer Award Goes To Salem's Johnson

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Great South Athletics Conference announced the fall sports Players of the Week for all contests played September 8 - 14 and, following voting by the league sports information directors, Salem's Tarryn Johnson captured Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

GSAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week – Tarryn Johnson of Salem

Johnson scored two goals this week to help Salem to a 2-0 week. Salem defeated two more USA South opponents this week. Johnson scored the second goal in a 2-0 victory at home against NC Wesleyan. She scored the opening goal for Salem in a 3-2 win at Greensboro College. Johnson is tied for first in the Great South with 5 total goals, and with 10 points so far this season.


The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
