Lewis Caps Season With Sixth Weekly Basketball Award

ATLANTA - The Great South Athletic Conference announced the winter and spring sports Athletes of the Week for contests played February 15 - 21 and, after voting by the league sports information directors, Quntashea Lewis of Salem won yet another award for Women's Basketball Player of the Week 

GSAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week – Quntashea Lewis of Salem  

Quntashea Lewis (pictured at right) led the way in all aspects of play as the Spirits went 2-0 on the road against conference opponents Wesleyan College and Agnes Scott. In the first road game against Wesleyan, Quntashea scored 31 points shooting 10-of-18 from the floor and 11-of-14 at the free throw line. She also pulled down a combined 28 rebounds; 11 on the offensive end.  She added 6 assists and 3 steals to her stat line for the evening.  She turned around the next day against Agnes Scott and netted 20 points and pulled down 11 boards. Lewis averaged 25.5 points and 19.5 rebounds for the week.  


The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
