GSAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week – Becky Onan of Mount Mary
Becky Onan (pictured at right) continues to take charge of the Blue Angels as demonstrated in this week's only game against Rockford University. Against the Regents, Onan dropped 15 points for her team while pulling down 13 rebounds. On the defensive side, Onan anchored her team again with four blocks and three steals. Onan's defense has been what has kept the Blue Angels in most games as she leads the GSAC with 2.6 blocks per game, a full block above second place. Onan's consistency on both ends has her in the top four for scoring and top three for rebounds in the GSAC.
The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
