ATLANTA, Ga. – The Great South Athletic Conference announced the women's basketball Player of the Week for all games played February 2 - 8 and, following voting by the league sports information directors, Maine-Presque Isle's Rebecca Campbell won the award for the second time this season.

Campbell averaged (pictured at right) 17 points, 10 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2 assists per contest in the three game week for the Owls in which they went 1-2 overall. Campbell scored a career-high 24 points against Fisher College in her last game playing before the home crowd, she also gathered 11 rebounds and passed out 4 assists in the senior day win for the Owls. Against Maine-Fort Kent Campbell had 18 points and 12 rebounds earlier in the week. In doing so, Campbell added two more double-doubles this week, to her remarkable season total of 18. For the week she converted 23 of her 43 field goal attempts (53.4%).
The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
