ATLANTA, Ga. – The Great South Athletic Conference announced the women's basketball Player of the Week for all games played January 26 – February 1 and, following voting by the league sports information directors, Darby Toth of Maine-Presque Isle captured the award for the second time this season.

Toth (pictured at right) scored 56 points in 3 games on 19-of-30 shooting, while grabbing 17 rebounds and dishing out 17 assists. Against Central Maine, Toth scored 30 points and handed out 5 assists, and in a win against Maine-Machias, the 5'1 point guard from North Port, Florida had games highs of 8 defensive rebounds and 7 assists. For the week, Toth averaged 18.7 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game and 5.7 assists per game.
The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
