ATLANTA, Ga. – The Great South Athletic Conference announced the women's basketball Player of the Week for all contests played December 15 – January 4 and, following voting by the league sports information directors, Darby Toth of Maine-Presque Isle captured the award.

In two games, Toth (pictured at right), the GSAC's leading scorer, scored 36 points and had 17 assists to add to her GSAC leading total of 51 assists for the season. The 5'1 dynamo also helped out on the boards, grabbing 14 rebounds and added 5 steals in two games at the Can-Am Classic in St. John, New Brunswick. She made 9-of-16-shots from behind the arc and is currently ranked #36 in NCAA D-III in three-point field-goal percentage. Toth is also ranked #10 in all of NCAA D-III Basketball in assist to turnover ratio, while leading the GSAC in that statistical category and also leading the GSAC in steals with 28. For the week she averaged 18 points, 8.5 assists, 7 rebounds and 2.5 steals per contest.
The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
