ATLANTA - The Great South Athletic Conference announced the winter and spring sports Athletes of the Week for games played February 8 - 14 and, after voting by the league sports information directors, Agnes Scott teammates Casey Arnold (player) and Molly Baker (pitcher) swept the first softball honors of the spring.
GSAC Softball Player of the Week – Casey Arnold of Agnes Scott
Casey Arnold (pictured at right) played in all 6 games played over the weekend against Point University, Huntingdon College and Emory University. Arnold went 6 for 12, batting .500 this past weekend. She had 5 singles and 1 double. She scored one run and did not have any strikeouts over the 6 games this weekend. She shared her time on the mound, at second base and as DP over the weekend.
GSAC Softball Pitcher of the Week – Molly Baker of Agnes Scott
Molly Baker pitched all 7 innings in the 6-3 win over Huntingdon College this past weekend. In the win, Baker had 5 strikeouts and 4 walks. Two of the runs were earned. Over the course of the weekend, Baker pitched the most innings out of the pitching staff with 13 innings pitched. She appeared on the mound in 3 of the games. She had a total of 12 strikeouts for the weekend.

The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
