ATLANTA, Ga. – The Great South Athletics Conference announced the spring sports Players of the Week for contests played February 10 -16 and, following voting by the league sports information directors, Agnes Scott's Alliyah Williams captured Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week.

Freshman Alliyah Williams (pictured at right) continues to show consistency and strength at the plate early in the season. In a double-header against Elmira College (NY), Williams went 4-fo- 5, batting .800 on the day. Williams had two singles, one double, one homerun, one run and two RBI's. In the circle, Williams pitched a one-hitter on Sunday to earn the first win of the season for the Scotties. She tossed the first game in a double-header against Elmira College (NY), with a final score of 1-0. Her game stats included two strikeouts and three walks en route to the big win.
The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
