ATLANTA, Ga. - With the regular season winding down, the GSAC softball squads are positioning themselves for the upcoming conference tournament. Here's a look at how the squads from around the league fared last week.
Pine Manor enjoyed the best week on the diamond, extending their winning streak to 8 games by going 4-0 with doubleheader sweeps of Wheelock and Fisher. The Gators are now 10-6 overall. Despite having all their contests washed out by weather, Finlandia continues to hold the league's best winning percentage with a 21-6 overall record.
Atop the GSAC standings at 10-0 in league play, Huntingdon split a doubleheader with Talladega to go 1-1 last week. Second place Agnes Scott (8-4 in GSAC) went 2-2 on the week, splitting a pair against both LaGrange and league-foe Salem. The Spirits, meanwhile, recorded a 3-1 record on the week by virue of their split with the Scotties and a two-game sweep of Wesleyan.
Covenant completed a four-game sweep of Wesleyan after getting swept by Trevecca Nazarene for a 4-2 week. Trinity (D.C.) went 0-2 after Virginia Lynchburg took a pair and Wesleyan finished a tough week at 0-8 overall.
Seedings for the GSAC Softball Tournament to be held April 26-28 will be announced early next week.
