
ATLANTA, Ga - The Great South Athletic Conference announced the fall sports week two Players of the Week and, after voting by the league sports information directors, Agnes Scott's Anna Tomkins won the volleyball award, Allyssa Willis of the Scotties took the cross country honor, and Serena Davilia-Olivera of UC-Santa Cruz captured the soccer prize.
GSAC Volleyball Player of the Week - Anna Tomkins of Agnes Scott
Anna Tomkins (pictured at right) was instrumental in Agnes Scott's straight-set win over Salem this week. She had a double-double with 20 assists and 12 digs. Tomkins also had 7 kills and 4 service aces in the big conference win. She leads the Scotties in assists this season.
GSAC Cross Country Runner of the Week - Allyssa Willis of Agnes Scott
Allyssa Willis led the Scotties for the second time in as many meets this season, posting a time of 27:21 on the 6k course at the University of North Georgia Invitational. The first-year student also led the team in their opening 5k on September 1.

GSAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week - Serena Davilia-Olivera of UC-Santa Cruz
Davilia-Olivera played 155 minutes of shutout soccer in goal this week. On Tuesday she tallied four saves in the Slugs' 0-0 tie against rival Menlo College. On Saturday she kept Division II Fresno Pacific off the boards in a stellar first-half with seven saves. She has a personal-shutout streak of 401 minutes and a GAA of 1.10.

The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
